Rob Hilliard at Cardinals Nation Restaurant with members of Boys & Girls Club of Ferguson, MO
The first pitch(es) were thrown by David Pepe, sports agent and son of baseball writer/sportscaster/friend of Skylands Park Phil Pepe, and long-time supporter Johnny "Baseball" Reagan. Jeffrey Hilliard and Amanda Grove-Hilliard deliverd the balls to the field.
Saturday, June 15, 2024, marked the 30th anniversary of the first game at Skylands Park (now Skylands Stadium) in Augusta, NJ--former home of the New Jersey Cardinals and Sussex County Colonels. In honor of the occasion, Rob Hilliard spoke to the crowd about how the ballpark came to be, and--through an online and virtual auction of his sports memorabilia--raised $2,500 for SCARC, a local organization supporting the developmentally disabled and their families, and the UVA Club of Northern New Jersey.
